Second week - First 10 games

Because our current rating is low right now for 3v3 (had ~1678) I decided to go shadow to test. It was BAD, but much better than I expected. Considering my uber DPS gear with 300 damage and 650 healing =P, and the fact that I never played as DPS in arena, winning 4 games is quite good.

I can't really do damage but it seems really easy to force a paladin to bubble, dot, fear, silence and he uses bubble. I still need better timing with my mass dispel. Silence and talent bonus to reduce resists with fear feels really nice. Next time I want to try to use a one tick mind flay and maybe VT at the start to stack debuff on our sheep target. A paladin can't dispel it right away with detect magic, polymorph, misery, VT and shadow vulnerability debuff.

I think we can do well when I get some better gear. Pyra can't play this weekend so next monday I plan to go shadow again to try it a bit more. This weekend I'll try to get Terokkar PvP ring and get exalted with Lower City to get the epic mace. Depending on the shadowcloth and primal might price on AH I'll make a Frozen Shadoweave chest piece and Battlecast head and pants (bye bye epic mount for Kat) =(.

Arena Season2 - First week

With the start of season2 I got some gear upgrades. Considering our 3v3 team matrix (priest, warlock, mage) we thought about having Aelwen playing shadow and Adresa (warlock) going affliction. Pyra is frost (17/0/51) and has no plans to change spec and Adresa said nothing to me about wanting to change from demo. Going shadow means that I have to get used to new spells and the teams needs a new playstyle.

After some discussion I decided to go holy/disc at least till I could get a second arena set or having my paladin up to lvl70 (haha). Then, I got Merciless Mooncloth head and should pieces from arena and Veteran's Salvation necklace and ring.

And then.. Adresa respec'ed affliction, saying she hates playing demo. Well.. I don't really have a problem with her playing affliction but now I don't know what to do. We already had problems with rogues, now we'll have more problems with the lock without soul link. We're more squish without having more burst to take one down fast and Adresa is not the type of player that moves around to kite and play with LOS, and Pyra is obviously an offensive player (more like kamikaze =P). I'm don't know if I go shadow, only with some tailor gear (cause I don't have arena and honor points to get gear now) or if I keep going holy/disc with my current gear. Well.. we'll see what happens this week..

Daily quests - part1

With the 2.1 patch Blizzard introduced a new kind of quests, the daily quests. They're quests that can be done once a day and you can do a max of 10 daily quests each day. I don't have access to all daily quests yet, but i'll post about the ones I know. All quests I know gives money and reputation, usually ~12g, so if you need gold for epic mount do at least the Sha'tari Skyguard and Ogri'la quests for some easy gold when you can.

Sha'tari Skyguard and Ogri'la quests are easy and can be done by a non-dps class, only one to kill a bunch of mobs. Part1 with the Skettis quests.

Skettis, Terokkar Forest
Needs a flying mount or summon to get there.

Escape from Skettis

  • Reward: ~12g, 2x Unstable Health or Mana Potion and 350rep with Sha'tari Skyguard.
  • What to do: Fastest quest to do if you have some luck and find the NPC fast. The NPC that gives the quests have a random respawn on 3 locations in a elevated hut (60,75 68,74 and 75,86) and only one spawn at the same time (he respawns as soon as someone finish the quest). Talk to him and scort. The quest is short and just spawn 2 mobs but there may be another regular mobs (and those bugged birds that hit me and go evade mode.. =/), so pay attention.

Fires Over Skettis
Requires Neutral with Sha'tari Skyguard.
Also requires Threat from Above and the follow up quest. You can get it near the flight master in Shattrath.
  • Reward: ~12g and 350rep with Sha'tari Skyguard.
  • What to do: Easiest daily quest, just use the bomb on eggs on top of the huts in Skettis. The Monstrous Kaliri can unmount you, stay away from them, if aggro one just fly up (with spacebar) till you get out of combat and they'll not hit you.

Changing alchemy mastery

Today I changed my mage alchemy mastery to elixir so I can at least use the herbs in my bank with some proc chance. It's pretty easy to change, just talk to the NPC that gave you the mastery quest and he'll give you an option to unlearn if you pay 150g. To get another specialization I just talked to the NPC that gives the elixir mastery and I learned it. Don't even have to do the quest again.

Potion mastery

Everytime I think about alchemy mastery I regret getting potion mastery. The reason I got it with my mage was because I thought protection potions would still be used for high end content like when I was lvl60 and expected to make a lot of money selling them on AH. But... with the timer on protection potion buff reduced to 2min only non-mana classes are using it. It's even worse with cauldrons now. Nobody pays for a protection potion on AH now. =/ I just pray the price for super health and mana potions to go up a little after the change on Skettis daily quest to give only Unstable pots instead of Super. If it keeps like this I'll change to elixir mastery to sell flasks on AH.

First post

Yeah.. I decided to start a blog so people can QQ all I want about WoW. I still trying to figure out how this blog thing works, so don't expect a functional layout, lots of posts or beautiful logo yet.

I current play a holy/disc priest on Uldum server (Cyclone battlegroup) named Aelwen. I have 3 arena teams:

2v2 Psycho Cloth ended 51th of the Battlegroup on Season1 with 2270 rating and gave us a Netherdrake and gladiator title =) the only one on our server for Alliance faction
3v3 Tender Meat ended with 2015 rating on Season1
5v5 WTB Name that we played like 30games.. =/

Not top team, but we done pretty good considering our 400-600ms latency (yeah.. everyone in my 2v2 and 3v3 lives in Brazil).

I also have a 70 mage to play some PvE content.
